Top Five Picks

These are my top five pieces from my sustained investigation.

1. Serilda's Scars

This sustained investigation piece was my first comic piece this year. I really like the composition of it, and I really like what this scen means to me. The characters with scars down her back has been hiding them out of shame, so she showers at night when nobody is around. Katie sees these scars, and wonders how Serilda got them. A little bit later in the story Serilda reveals that sh sold her wings to organ/body part traffickers when she ran away so she would fit in more. She also needed the money to get a ticket to get off world. She deals with major guilt throughout the rest of the story because she mutiliated her body.

2. Adiah's Beginnings

My next favorite is page 2 of Adiah's storyline. I like the color palate I used, and I am proud that I started to learn digital art. For one of my first pieces using this new medium, I am quite proud of myself. I also am disappointed I had to pause on Adiah's storyline for a bit, so I like this because its one of the few pieces I made specifically about her.

3. Family Tree

I like the style I learned for this art piece, and I put a lot of hard work into making a braid brush for Celeste/Katie and Adiah's braids. I also like this piece because it explains the main protagonist's relations which can be confusing.

4. The Invasion Scene

I like how these comic pages look. I learned a lot about lighting, shading, colors, and movement.

5. The Webtoon Art

II like these pieces because I got to learn how to draw galaxies and planets. I really like how both of these look. They are both art pieces are for publishing my comic online. The second piece is of Earth and Guarra (one of the Galavina's military planets) colliding, with the Galavina's ring world around it. When the Galavina takes over a new world, she tends to take the entire capitol city and add it to her ring world.
